Before Turner bought Hanna-Barbera in December 1991, Hanna-Barbera was at one time a great animation studio(exepct in the 1970s). In 1957, Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera founded Hanna-Barbera after MGM closed down the MGM animation department. The first cartoon by Hanna-Barbera was Ruff and Ready. In 1958, The Huckleberry Hound Show premieres on television, It had memorable characters such as Huck Hound himself, Yogi Bear, and Pixie and Dixie. In 1960, The first primetime cartoon The Flintstones premieres on television from 1960 to 1966 and was used to be the longest running cartoon on television until The Simpsons broke the record in 1997. In 1961, Hanna-Babrera's second primetime cartoon Top Cat premieres and lasted from 1961-1962. In 1962, there third primetime cartoon The Jetsons premieres and originally lasted from 1962-1963 until they did a revival either in 1984 or 1985 and lasted in 1987. In 1964, there first action cartoon Johnny Quest premieres. 1964 was also the same year that there first feature film came out(Hey There it's Yogi Bear!). In 1966, another action cartoon called Space Ghost premires. 1966 was also (just like two years earlier) the year The Man Called Flintstone was released in theaters. In 1968, Wacky Races premieres starring the ever memorable Dick Dastardly and his sidekick Muttley. In 1969, Scooby Doo Where are You? premieres. The 1950's and 1960's was a great time for Hanna-Barbera, But then something goes horribly wrong! The next decade, the 1970's, was a terrible time for most animation studios execpt Japan. Stuff by Disney, Bill Melendez, Rankin-Bass, and Depatie-Freleng where ALOT better than most animation like Filmation(the worst animation studio ever!) and Hanna-Barbera at that time. Most stuff by Hanna-Barbera in the 70's where bad Scooby Doo ripoffs and ruinations of there own characters like Yogi Bear and The Flintstones. However there is one thing by Hanna-Barbera in the 70's that is good, The animated feature film from 1973, Charolotte's Web. Thankfully, the next decade, the 1980's, was alot better for Hanna-Barbera in my opinion. There most popular cartoon in the 80's was The Smurfs, which lasted from 1981-1990. Another reason why Hanna-Barbera was alot better in the 80's than the 70's is because unlike the 70's (which bastardized and ripped off there own characters), the 80's understood the characters perfectly (mainly because of people like Tom Ruegger, John Kricfalusi, ect. ect.) That's why shows like Yogi's Tresure Hunt, A Pup Named Scooby Doo, and The Jetsons revival were so good. Then comes the 1990's, which is usually considered to be a great decade since the 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's, and 60's. Somewhere around the late-80's and 1990 (prior to somewhere in 1991), MCA-Universal was planning to buy Hanna-Barbera. In 1990, Universal Studios Florida opens and one of the Attractions that used to be there was a movie ride called The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera. It was a very unique ride where Elroy gets kidnapped by Dick Dastardly and Muttley, and Yogi and Boo-Boo must save Elroy and they fly in rockets into three diffrent places: Bedrock, a Spooky Castle, and the Future. At the end Elroy is reunited with his family and Dastardly and Muttley get arrested. Also in 1990, Universal released a animated feature film called Jetsons the Movie to theatres. All the possibilities of Universal acquiring Hanna-Barbera seemed possible, Until Turner bought the animation studio in December 1991. Ever since Turner(and later, Time-Warner) bought Hanna-Barbera it became crap! Why you ask? I'll tell you all why!(and alot of people will hate me for this.) Well for one thing, Fred Seibert turned Hanna-Barbera into a complete ripoff of Games Animation(a.k.a. Nickelodeon Animation Studios. I don't hate Nickelodeon or anything I'm just saying that Hanna-Barbera became a ripoff of Nickelodeon Animation Studios.) Lot of reasons:
1. The drawing styles in shows like Two Stupid Dogs, Dumb and Dumber, Cow and Chicken, and the first season of Dexter's Lab are ripped off from Ren and Stimpy(the Games Animation episodes in particular.)
2. Bastardized versions of Hanna-Barbera characters(I Yabba Dabba Doo, Hollyrockabye Baby, Arabian Knights, The Flintstones Christmas Carol, The Real Adventures of Johnny Quest, Super Secret Squirrel, Yogi's Easter Special, cameos in Dexter's Lab, Johnny Bravo, Powrpuff Girls, Billy and Mandy, ect. ect.)
3. Most of the stuff by the new Hanna-Barbera(1992-200?) and Cartoon Network Studios are ripoffs of Games Animation/Nickelodeon Animation Studios cartoons(mainly Ren and Stimpy and to a certain extent Spongebob.)
4. Unoriginal cartoons(Examples, Swat Cats = Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Addams Family = Bad version of the original 1964-1966 live action series. Arabian Knights = Warner/Amblin cartoons. Two Stupid Dogs, Dexter's Lab, and Cow and Chicken = The Ren and Stimpy Show. World Premire Toons/What-a-Cartoon = various Hanna-Barbera cartoons from 1957-1966. Super Secret Squirrel = Secret Squirrel. ect. ect.)
5. The What-a-Cartoon Show, Dexter's Lab, Powerpuff Girls, Johnny Bravo, Cow and Chicken, and I.M. Weasle are all abortions and all suck.
6. Everything by Hanna-Barbera from 1992 to 200? all suck.
7. Flintstones on the Rocks is a bastardized version of the early episodes of The Flintstones.
So you see that Ted Turner and Fred Seibert deverve to die for what they did to the once great Hanna-Barbera. I wish I can go back in time and kill Ted Turner from being born and kill Fred Seibert in somewhere around November 1991. Ted Turner and Fred Seibert ruined Hanna-Barbera. I wish MCA/Universal gotten Hanna-Barbera insted of Turner.

Why do you wish MCA & Universal brought Hannah Barbera?
